The explosion which shook a busy market in Bauchi northern Nigerian on today, engulfing it in flames and cause an unknown numbers of casualties, a Reuters witness said. Large sections of the central market area were also on fire, sending plumes of smoke into the air, he said why Medics were driving some wounded away in ambulances.
The explosion was said to hit hours after a double bomb attack in the main city of neighbouring Gombe state killed at least 20 people and wounded twice as many. The Spokesman for the Gombe State Police Command, Mr Fwaji Atajiri, however confirmed that 19 people were killed in the bomb blast that rocked Dukku Motor Park located in the heart of Gombe town.
